What was delivered
- I'm Upping My P(doom) (English, 156 s): the original story rebuilt from scratch, a tiny AI on a lab monitor growing into a planet-sized superintelligence, ending with the reveal that it was all a stage show.
- My P(doom) Up Liao Lah (Singlish, 202 s): English, Mandarin and Hokkien lyrics set in Singapore: a late-night kopitiam, chope, a 4D queue, the ECP, Bintan, the Changi queue and the Esplanade, ending with the lights coming up on an NDP rehearsal. The cast was designed and approved before any scene was built.
- 我的 P(doom) 又涨了 (Chinese, 172 s): new Chinese lyrics written as an earworm rather than a translation, and the story retold through Journey to the West: born in Laojun's alchemy furnace, the White Bone Demon, the Southern Gate of Heaven, the Five-Finger Mountain, ending as a shadow-puppet play.
- Both new songs were written by Claude and generated with Suno; every cut in all three films lands on its song's measured beat, with karaoke lyrics in each language.
- For every film: a shared cast and set so the characters stay on model, ten chapters built in parallel by nine sub-agents, and every hand-off between chapters checked frame by frame before the full render.
How it was made
- Write the lyrics (or take the original song), generate the song with Suno and pick the best take.
- Measure the tempo and take the line timing from the song file.
- The director agent writes the storyboard and builds the shared characters, props and sets; for the Singapore film, the designs went to review first.
- Nine sub-agents each storyboard, build, render check images and fix one chapter, agreeing the hand-off frames through the director.
- The director checks every seam, renders all frames and encodes the film with the song.
Why it matters
The same agent-team method produced three different films in two days. The second and third reused the method, not the content: new songs, new stories and new visual worlds for two more cultures. Localising for an audience, rather than translating words, is now something an agent team can do end to end.
Thanks
A big thank you to John Heibel (github.com/JohnHeibel). His open-source PDoomVideo gave the first film its story and storyboard, and his ClaudeAnimationBase gave all three films their painting kit and method.
