What it is
A general-purpose agentic AI console that runs on each person's own PC and talks to the company's private local LLM. It is built on an open-source terminal agent, and it is not a chatbot: it reads files, images and video, writes code, calls other systems and decides its own next step.
The name comes from π: a simple question, how the circle relates to its diameter, with an answer that never ends. The console starts the same way, with "help me answer a question", and keeps going to see how far AI can go.
What it does
- Takes a task in plain words, in any language, picks the right skill by itself, shows its plan and waits for approval before it changes anything.
- Lets anyone build a skill: describe the job you repeat every day, and the console writes the skill, tests it and keeps it for next time, ready to share with the team.
- Reaches other systems through extensions: read-only questions to the ERP, the low-code platform, a browser that drives internal web apps, and very large files.
- Skills in use today include licence-usage reports, a warranty checker, failed file-transfer reports, workflow diagrams, stock reconciliation, tickets raised from a plain request, server health checks and expense claims.
- Builds things too: a small game with a high-score table, or a film opening rebuilt in three.js.
How it works
- Context: a short file of house rules is read before every message, like a staff handbook: who we are, which systems exist, what is allowed and what always needs a human yes.
- Skills: a shelf of work instructions. The agent reads the titles and opens only the one the task needs, so the model's attention stays on the job.
- Extensions: plug-ins that give the agent new hands, so a skill can query a system or drive a browser instead of only writing text.
- The person stays in charge: read the plan, approve the change, and interrupt at any point without losing the work.
- Sessions are kept on the user's PC, so yesterday's work can be resumed, and long chats are summarised automatically to stay within the model's context.
Design choices
- On-premise by design: the model runs on the company's own server, a gateway checks each key and stores no messages, and no cloud AI is in the path.
- Hybrid skills: the AI handles the language, a small script handles the fixed steps, so results are fast and repeatable.
- Secrets live in the operating system's credential store, never in chat history; every server command is audited.
- Irreversible steps are a deliberate human act, not a chat-level yes.
- Ships as an offline package that a colleague can copy and start in minutes, with small patch packs for updates.
- Rolled out in stages: IT and cyber teams first, business users through controlled projects.
